14U Birmingham Giants Softball roll off 4 straight on their way to the championship

Playing in vance, the Birmingham Giants 14u softball team rolled off 4 straight victories on their way to grabbing the championship ring. In their first game of pool play, the Giants were matched up with the Base Wreckers. McKenzie Little allowed just 5 hits and 2 earned runs in the 4-3 win. At the plate, McKenzie Little (2B), Lanie Otwell (1), Michaela Sweet (1), Sophie Gromko (2), and Brayley Mitchell (1) all had hits in the win.

In their second game of pool play, the Giants were paired up with Octane. Gracelyn McCarrell started the game in the circle and McKenzie Little closed out the final inning of the 5-4 win. Offensively hits came from Gracie Dice (1), Lanie Otwell (1), Brayley Mitchell (1) and Gracelyn McCarrell(1). The win seated the Giants first heading into bracket play.

In their first game of bracket play the Giants faced off with the East Tuscaloosa Warriors. McKenzie Little started the game and Gracelyn McCarrell closed out the final inning of the 12-4 win. Gracie Dice (1), Sarah Beth Gill (1), Sophie Gromko (1), McKenzie Little (2), Brayley Mitchell (2B), and Reece Carden (2, 1 2B) all had hits in the win, which moved the Giants into the championship game.

In the championship game the Giants faced off with R9, 7 runsin the first 2 innings allowed the Giants to cruise to a 10-4 win. McKenzie Little allowed 7 hits over 5 innings and Michaela Sweet (2), Sophie Gromko (3), Lanie Otwell (3, 1 3b), Taylor Kindred (1), McKenzie Little (2 2 2B), and Reece Carden (2) all had hits in the championship win.
