Posting a 4-0 mark on saturday, the Birmingham Giants 10-Carroll raised their fall record to 18-7 and brought home the championship from vance. In game 1 of pool play, the Giants matched up with the Trussville Red Storm. Sophia Carroll struck out 2 over 3 innings and Kendal Burch closed out the final inning of the 3-2 win by striking out the side. Offensively the Giants were led by Abigail Erreca (1), Kendall Burch (1), and Skylan Dyson (1), who all had hits in the win.
In their second game of pool play, the Giants squared off with the Birmingham Mustangs ’11. Alyssa Broome started the game in the circle, tossing 3 innings and striking out 8 and Abigail Erecca (1), Kendall Burch (1), Ralee Burgett (1), Haylee Gothard (1), Addison Praytor (1) and Sophia Carroll (1) all had hits in the 7-2 win.
Sophia Carroll singled in the winning run as the Giants pulled out the 3-2 win against Bomb Squad in their first bracket play game. The Giants offense also received hits from Abigail Erecca (1), Haylee Gothard (1), Skylan Dyson (2), Addison Praytor (1), Harper Rielly (1) and Heidi Garzarek (1), the win moved the Giants into the championship game.
In the championship the Birmingham Giants 10u Carroll was matched up with the Birmingham Giants 10u Alexander. In a close game all the way through Alyssa Broome struck out 11 over 4 innings in tossing the Giants 84th no hitter all time. At the plate Abigail Erreca (1), Ralee Burgett (1), Haylee Gothard (1), Skylan Dyson (1), Addison Praytor (1), and Sophia Carroll (1) all had hits in the win.
