Playing in Trussville Alabama, in the Easter Bunny Showdown, the Birmingham Giants 10u softball team won 3 out of 4 games to bring home second place. In their first game, Grace Turner and Maci Black combined to allow just 2 hits over 4 innings and hits from Kinsley Seibert (1) and Anne Marie Seal (1) were enough as the Giants walked away with a 1-0 win. In their second game of pool play, the Giants squared off with White Lightning 2011. Kynsley Freeman and Grace Turner again allowed juts 3 hits and offensively the Giants were led by Kate Flanagan (1), Kinley Seibert (2, 1 2B),and Aubrey Todd(1) as the Giants rolled to a 7-1 win and the Top seed in the Brackets.
To start bracket play, the Giants for the 3rd time took on another White Lightning team, and again Giant pitching dominated, Grace Turner, Maci Black and Kynsley Freeman allowed just 1 hit over 4 innings and on the day, through the first 3 games, Giants pitching allowed just 1 run over 12 innings to the white lightning teams. At the plate hits from Anne Marie Seal (2) and Kate Flanagan led the Giants to the 3-0 win and a spot in the Semi Finals.
In the Semi Final, the Giants again faced another White Lightning team, with the same result, Giants pitchers Kynsley Freeman, Maci Black and Grace Turner this time allowed no hits, in tossing the Giants 86th No Hitter all time and just 1 unearned run, leaving Giants pitching with just 1 earned run in 16 innings against white lightning teams. Offensively the Giants received hits from Kate F (1), Addison Bailey (1), Kinley Seibert (2B) and Anne Marie Seal (HR) in the 6-1 win. The win sent the Giants to the finals to face off with VTX 2010.
In the finals the Giants managed just 1 hit by Aubrey Todd(1) as the finished in second place on the day.
