Playing Vance, the 10u Birmingham Giants Softball- Alexander posted a 4-1 mark on saturday on their way to a 2nd place finish. In their first game of pool play, the Giants were paired up with the Swarm. Kinsley Freeman, Macie Black and Grace Turner combined to allow just 1 hit over 3 inning, while striking out 8 and offensively hits from Addison Bailey (1), Anne Marie Seal (1), and Macie Black (1) all had hits in the 3-2 win. In their second game of pool play the Giants faced the Tomahawks. in an offensive barrage the Giants pounded out 18 hits( Grace Turner (3, 2 2B), Kate Flannagan (1), Addison Bailey (3), Kinley Seibert (2), Anne Marie Seal (2), Macie Black (3, 1 2B), Brooklyn Davlin (2), Kinsley Freeman (1), and Ava White (1) and Kate Flannagan, Kinley Seibert, and Kynsley Freeman combined to scatter 3 hits while striking out 7 as the Giants rolled to a 16-3 win.
In their final game of pool play, the Giants were matched up with Nitro. Grace Turner allowed just 3 hits and 1 run over 4 innings, but the Giants managed just 1 hit (Kynsley Freeman) as the game ended the same way it started, in a tie, 1-1. The Giants finished pool play with a 2-0-1 mark heading into Bracket play.
In what was really the championship game, played in the first round of bracket play, the Giants again faced off with the Nitro. Grace Turner controlled the game from the start allowing just 2 hits over 4 innings, while striking out 9, and hits from Addison Bailey (1), Kinsley Seibert (1), Anne Marie Seal (1) and Maci Black (1) led the Giants to the 4-0 win and a place in the championship.
In the championship, the Giants managed just 1 hit from Kinsley Seibert as the fell 4-1.
