10U Birmingham Giants, Break a Record, Toss a perfect game and 4 No Hitter’s and Bring home the Title

Playing in Tupelo Mississippi, the Birmingham Giants 10u Carroll rolled off a new club record 10 wins in a tournament, Tossed the clubs 3rd Perfect game All Time and 85th, 86th and 87th and 88th No Hitter’s all time on their way to a 10-1 record on the weekend. In their first game of pool play the Giants were matched up with the Germantown Rays. Harper Riley and Alyssa Broome allowed just 4 hits over 4 innings, while striking out 6. Offensively hits from Alyssa Broom (1), Haylee Gothard (1), and Addison Praytor (2B) were enough to power the Giants to a 6-2 win. In their second game of pool play, the Giants tossed their first No Hitter of the day, Skylan Dyson (1 Inning , 3 K’s ) and Kendall Burch (1 Inning, 3 K’s ) in the 2 inning shortened 12-0 win. Offensively the Giants were led by Kendall Burch (2), Alyssa Broome (2B), Ralee Burgett (1), and Addison Praytor (1) in the win. the win moved the Giants into bracket play undefeated. To start their first game of bracket play Alyssa Broome and Skylan Dyson allowed no hits over 4 innings, while striking out 10 and Ralee Burgett (2B), Haylee Gothard (3B), Addison Praytor (1), and Khloe Kennedy (1) all had hits as the Giants rolled past Mississippi Glory 10-1, for their second No Hitter on the day.

Moving on to the second round of bracket play, the Giants were paired up with Hot Shots. Kendall Burch allowed just 1 hit while striking out 6, and the Giants managed 5 hits from Kendall Burch (2, 1 3B), Harper Riley (1), Haylee Gothard (2B), and Addison Praytor (1) but it was not enough as the Giants suffered their only loss of the day 3-1. The loss sent the Giants to the Losers bracket, where they would fight all the way to the championship game.

In their next game the Giants were again paired up with the Germantown Rays. Alyssa Broom and Harper Riley combined to allow just 1 hit while striking out 3, and at the plate the Giants were led by Abigail Erreca (2, 1 2B), Kendall Burch (2B), Alyssa Broome (1), Skylan Dyson (3B), Khloe Kennedy (1), , who all had hits in the 14-1 win. The win moved the Giants on to face the Illusions.

Alyssa Broome’s 3 Hitless innings while striking out 3, and hits from Abigail Erreca (2, 1 2B), Alyssa Broome (1), Ralee Burgett (1), Haylee Gothard (2B), and Addison Praytor (1) led the Giants as they rolled to an 8-1 win, their 3rd No Hitter of the day. The win moved the Giants on to next face the Cleveland Chaos. Alyssa Broome continued her hot hand allowing no hits over 4 innings, while striking out 9, and tossed the Giants 3rd ever perfect game and Ralee Burgett (1), Haylee Gothard (1), and Khloe Kennedy (1) had hits as the Giants battled to a 2-0 win.

Next up for the Giants was the Miss Magnolia’s , and Kendall Burch scattered 5 hits over 5 innings while striking out 6, and Abigail Erreca (2), Alyssa Broome (2, 1 2B) Ralee Burgett (2 3B), Harper Riley (1), Skylan Dyson (1), Addison Praytor (1), and Heidi Garzarek (1) all had hits as the Giants continued their hot streak with a 5-4 tough fought win. Moving on to the next round, the Giants were scheduled to play Wicked Softball. Alyssa Broome and Skylan Dyson again combined to allow No Hits over 3 innings while striking out 5 for the teams 5th No Hitter of the day. The Giants offense pounded out 10 hits from Abigail Erreca (1), Alyssa Broome (2), Ralee Burgett (HR), Harper Riley (2, 1 2B), Haylee Gothard (2B), Khloe Kennedy (1), Addison Praytor (2B), and Heidi Garzarek (1) as the Giants rolled to an 11-0 win. The win moved the Giants into the finals where they would have to win both games to wrap up the title, and break the most wins in a tournament with 10 (03 Birmingham Giants 9 Wins)

In game 1 of the championship game, Alyssa Broome and Sylan Dyson combined to allow just 2 hits while striking out 4, and hits came from Kendall Burch (1), Alyssa Broome (1), Ralee Burgett (2B, 3B), Harper Riley (2, 1 2B), and Addison Praytor (1) which powered the Giants offense in the 11-1 win. The Giants win forced the Hot Shots to play the second championship game., In a game in which Alyssa Broome would allow just 2 hits over 5 innings, while striking out 12, the Giants would pound out 7 hits from Abigail Erecca (1), Alyssa Broome (1), Haylee Gothard (2, 1 2B), Sylan Dyson (1), Khloe Kennedy (1), and Addison Praytor (1) the Giants took the second game from the Hot shots and grabbed the title with the 5-1 win.
