Playing in their second tournament of the fall, the Birmingham Giants 8u Softball team won 3 of their 4 games to bring home first. In their first game of pool play, the Giants were matched up with All Elite Fastpitch. Brenley Marsh (3), Hadley Kraebber (3), Maila Hickman (1), Paisley Verwyst (2), Abigail Mitchell (1), Ava Atchley (1), Harmonie Hooks (1), Charlotte Erreca (1) and Brynleigh Jones (2) all had hits as the Giants rolled to a 16-7 win.
In their second game of pool play the Birmingham Giants suffered their only setback of the day 18-12 to the shockers. For their 12 runs, the Giants offense received hits from Brenley Marsh (3), Hadley Kraebber (2), Raeleigh Hester (2), Maila Hickman (1), Paisley Verwyst (2), Hailey Baggett (1), Abigail Mitchell (1), and Ava Atchley (2) but it was not enough as the Giants fell 18-12.
Next up for the Giants in their first bracket play game was the Knights. The Giants defense held the knights to just 6 hits over 4 innings and 4 runs. At the plate Brenley Marsh (2), Hadley Kraebber (2), Maila Hickman (2), Raeleigh Hester (1), Penelope Walker (2) Paisley Verwyst (2), Hailey Baggett (2), and Harmonie Hooks (1) as the Giants rolled into the finals with a 13-4 win.
In the finals the Giants faced off with Next Level. In a game in which they never trailed and posted 2 shutout innings, the Giants pounded out 21 hits ( Brenley Marsh (3), Hadley Kraebber (3), Maila Hickman (2), Penelope Walker (1), Paisley Verwyst (2), Abigail Mitchell (3), Hailey (2), Harmonie Hooks (2), and Brynleigh Jones (1) ) while allowing just 8 as the Giants rolled to a large margin win 16-8, and winning the first championship.
