Playing on the Turf fields in Gardendale, the Birmingham Giants Softball 12u – Bailey posted a 4-0 mark on their way to the championship. Kenzy Atkinson allowed just 1 hit over 3 innings while striking out 5 in the Giants first pool play game, while Cate Bruce (2), Kenzy Atkinson (2), Kendall Burch (1), Mackenzie Kreder (1), Berkley Rowell (1), and Sophie Culpepper (1) all had hits for the Giants in the 8-2 win.
In their second game of pool play Sophie Culpepper allowed just 2 hits over 3 innings while striking out 4, and Cate Bruce (1), Berkley Rowell (2- 1 2B), Kenzy Atkinson (2B), Kendall Burch (2, 1 2B), and Hilton Ashe (1) all had hits in the Giants 8-3 win over Combat 12u. The win seeded the Giants first overall heading into bracket play.
In their first bracket play matchup the Giants again paired up with Combat 12u. Kendall Burch allowed just 1 hit over 3 innings, while striking out 9, and Cate Bruce had the only Giants hit, as the the finished the game with a 2-0 win. The win moved the Giants into the championship game to face mafia.
Sophie Culpepper allowed just 1 hit over 3 innings and Kendall Burch closed out the final inning with a couple of strikeouts for the 4-0 win for the Giants. Cate Bruce ( 2 1 2B), Kenzy Atkinson (2), Kendall Burch (1), and Becca Hanson (1) led the Giants offensively in the win.
