Playing in Cullman Alabama, the Birmingham Giants 9u Baseball rolled off 4 of 5 wins to grab their first tournament championship. In their first game of pool play the Giants hammered out 5 hits , (Caleb Syx (2B), Caiden Humbert (1), Caiden Knight (1), Ellis Coleman (1), and Caius Howell (2B) and Kip Nash and Caiden Humbert combined for the win on the mound, as the Giants won 9-7. In game 2 of pool play the Giants suffered their only set back of the day. Cayden Knight struck out 6 over 4 innings but 4 unearned runs did the giants in, At the plate Caiden Humbert (1), Kason Nevitt (HR), and Caius Howell (3B) had hits for the Giants. The Giants finished 1-1 in pool play and seated 4th going into bracket play.
In their first game of bracket play, the Giants were matched up with ESB Elite. In a game that was never really close the Giants scored 17 runs over 3 innings in the 17-5 win. Caleb Syx Allowed just 2 hits and 2 earned runs while striking out 4 and at the plate Caleb Syx (2, 1 2B), Caiden Humbert (2 , 1 2B), Kason Nevitt (2, 1 3b), Caiden Knight (3), and Caleb Lafoy (1) all had hits in the win. The win moved the Giants on to face VBA. Caiden Humbert struck out 4 over 4 innings, and the Giants offense had hits from Kip Nash (1), Caiden Humbert (2B), Kason Nevitt (3B), Cayden Knight (2 2B), Jaxon Hestla (1), Caleb Lafoy (1), and Caius Howell (1) all had hits as the Giants won 10-6. The win moved the Giants into the finals where they would avenge their only loss of the day.
In the championship game Caiden Humbert allowed just 2 hits while striking out 3 and Kip Nash allowed just 1 base runner over the final 2 innings to close out the win. At the plate Caleb Syx (1), Kip Nash (1), Caiden Humbert (1), Cayden Knight (1) and Jaxon Hestla (2) all had hits for the Giants, and with Ducky Graham carrying the load behind the plate for the 5th game of the day, the Giants brought home their first 1st place championship.
