Birmingham Giants 9U Baseball finishes second

Playing in Cullman and Unbeaten in 12 of their last 13 games, The Birmingham Giants 9u Baseball ran its record to 20-12-1 for the spring/summer 2024 season. In their first game of pool play, the Giants were matched up with the Huntsville Mayors. Using 13 first inning runs, the Giants offense paced by hits from Kip Nash (1), Caiden Humbert (1), Camden Lafoy (1), Crimson Fuller (2B), and Jaxon Hestla (1) helped lead the Giants to the 14-1 win. On the mound, Cayden Knight and Kason Nevitt combined to throw the Birmingham Giants 135th No Hitter all time in the win. In their second game of pool play, the Giants faced off with the 5star Shockers. The Giants offense left 6 runners on base over the 4 innings and the game ended in a 5-5 tie. Offensively the Giants were paced by Kip Nash (2B), Cayden Humbert (1), Cayden Knight (1), and Caius Howle (1), and Kip Nash and Jaxon Hestla limited the shocker over the 4 innings and the game ended in a 5-5 tie. The Giants finished pool play at 1-0-1 and seated 3rd heading into bracket play.

Moving into bracket play, the Giants were matched with the Cullman Bearcats, Cayden Humbert and Caleb Syx combined to strike out 7 over 3 innings while allowing just 1 hit and no runs. At the plate Caleb Syx (1), Kason Nevitt (2B), Crimson Fuller (2), Camden Lafoy (1), and Ellis Coleman (1) all had hits as the Giants won 11-0 to move on to the next round. In the next round of bracket play, the Giants faced off with the Cullman Cats. Cayden Humbert allowed just 2 hits over 4 innings while striking out 6 and Caleb Syx (1), Caiden Humbert (1), Kason Nevitt (2B), Jaxon Hestla (1), and Caius Howle (1) all had hits as the Giants pulled out the 3-2 win, and earning an appearance in the finals. In the finals the Giants managed only 1 hit and fell to finish second.
