Meet the Birmingham Giants : Ethan “Big Country” Thrasher

The 2014 season will be catcher/pitcher/outfielder Ethan “Big Country ” Thrashers 4th season in a Giants uniform.  One of the most beloved and respected members of the Giants organization, Big country is known for his titanic home runs and laser arm behind the plate.  In the 2013 season Thrasher tied the record for most wins by a pitcher in a season with 4. A career .463 hitter with 3 home runs, 6 doubles, 4 triples, 45 RBI and 14 stolen bases, if they are on base, when Big country is at the plate, they are coming in. Coach Sean McGuire said of  thrasher, ” Country is one of the best kids, sensation players I have been around, he is such a great team mate, and friend, one of my favorite players we have ever had.” Thrasher began his career in high school by making his varsity team as an 8th grader, an honor not lost on him, ” I can’t wait to pitch for varsity, I just want to throw well for my team” player page
