Though only in 7th grade, pitcher, 1b , of ,Noah Hathorn started his high school career on his schools varsity team. Entering his 3rd season with the Birmingham Giants, “Hat” has become a giant part of the Birmingham Giants bullpen. It is a rare occasion that Hathorn does not take the mound with the game close, and in 2 seasons, you can count on 1 hand minus 3 fingers the number of times he has allowed the lead to slip, in his 16 + appearances.
“Hat” is the giants career record holder in pick offs with 19 in the past 2 seasons, a trait which makes him extremely difficult to run on, and with a live fastball, excellent change up and curveball Hathorn averages a strike out per inning.
A switch hitter, Noah holds a career average of .381 with 4 doubles, 15 stolen bases, 24 RBI, and 4 sacrifice bunts. Coach Greg Garcia said of Hathorn ” Noah is a kid that can do just about anything on the ball field, hit , run, throw, just a kid with such a tremendously high ceiling , and such a well raised young man, a pleasure to have around”
