2 years ago, Giants catcher Lauren “sparky” Cabiness started working on her catching technique with Giants catching coaches, 1 sometimes 2 times per week, and today her hard work paid off. The Birmingham Giants are proud and excited to announce Lauren Cabiness has been selected as a catcher /3b on the 7a Thompson Middle school team. Coach McGuire said of the news, “This one meant a lot to me personally, they all mean a lot, but anytime one of our catchers makes a team it is a little extra special. I know she is going to have a great season, and I can’t wait to see her play.”
The Giants program has become catcher U, as the additional Giants catcher tribe program has now landed 9 catchers on area schools rosters.
