Unfortunately for the Gamers, they had to go through the Mash Sisters. Elissa Glaze led off the inning with a sharp single up the middle, and stole 2nd and 3rd, with Ka’Mya Hampton at the plate and a 3-0 count, Mash Sister Hampton launched the next pitch into Giants lore, and all the way to the right center field wall on a hop, racing around the bases for a game tying home run as time expired.

The Carrolton Georgia Crush were next up on the bracket for the Birmingham Giants, and led the Giants for 2 1/2 innings 4-0. In the bottom of the inning, one half of the Mash Sisters struck again. After tripling earlier in the game, Elissa “Doughnut” Glaze launched a 3 run Home Run, to cut the deficit to 4-3.  The Giants then held the Georgia team in the top half of the 4th, and trailed 4-3 going into the bottom of the last inning with the season on the line.  Lauren Cabiness led off the final inning with a single, and then stole 2nd and moved up to third on a single by Blakely Burr, and after an intentional walk to Kim Livingston to load the bases, Olivia Renta  doubled in the the go ahead runs for the walk off hit and Giants win 5-4. Surviving to Sunday, the Giants first opponent was a team they had beaten earlier in the fall, White Lightning 02.

The Giants took an early 4-1 lead going into the bottom of the 3rd, but white lightning battled back and  by the end of regular innings, they had tied the score at 4.  International tie breaker rules began with the top of the 5th, and Kinley Hall started the inning at 2nd, and moved up to 3rd on a single from Mollie Freeman. After 2 strike outs, Elissa Glaze stepped to the plate with a chance to win the game, but before she could, a wild pitch scored not 1 but both Giants, to give them a 6-4 lead. After scoring 1, white lightning had a runner on 3rd with 2 outs, when they tried an ill-advised delayed steal of home, which the Giants easily sniffed out on an Olivia Renta to catcher Lauren Cabiness throw, who blocked the plate for the final out and the win.
