Despite finishing with a 2-0 record in the Fall Brawl Tournament, on the strength of run differential the Birmingham Giants finished second.
The First game featured a 14 hit, 15 run attack by the Giants enroute to a 15-3 victory over the Alabama Thunder. The Giants were paced by 2 hits each from Stone Favrot, Noah Hathorn, and Charles Cobb, and solid pitching from Ethan Thrasher (2-0 in his last 2 starts) and excellent relief pitching from Chris Salter, working out of a bull pen that has allowed only 4 of 20 inherited runners to score.
In Game 2, a hard fought battle with the Prospects from Clanton, Alabama, the giants escaped with a 5-3 victory, behind a complete game from David Hopkins. The giants were lead offensively by Noah Hathorn and Jordan Deavers both with doubles as part of a 7 hit attack, and propelling the Giants to a 2-0 record.
The Giants have now finished 1st or 2nd in 3 of their first 5 tournaments.
