The 01 Birmingham Giants battle their way to another top 3 finish Saturday in Oxford. After winning their first 2 tournaments, and 1 week removed from winning the organizations 200th game all time, the Giants 01 came up a little short in the semi final game, losing 7-4, after winning 4-1 and 8-1, raising their season record to 9-3.
In game 1 of pool play the Giants 01 took on Cherokee County. Sydney Chamness went the distance in the circle, scattering 2 hits for the win. Hits from Cassi Williams (3b), Turner Cole (1), Francis Fowler (2b), and Skylar Street (1,2b) were not enough as the Giants fell.
Lost in the chase for the three-Pete was the 01 Giants winning the Organization 200th game all time. Congratulations to all the players (boys and girls) who contributed to the 212 all time.
