The Birmingham Giants 16u Softball team rolled its season record to 5-1 on the fall taking both ends of a double header showcase at JSU on sunday.
In game 1, the Giants came out swinging, posting 2 runs in the first, and 6 more in the second, leading to the 8-2 win. Madison Simmons started the game in the circle, earning her 4th win of the season. At the plate, the Giants were led by Kelsey English (2), Shelby Morgan (2, 1 2b), Sabrina Russell (2), Rachael McKinney (1), Kaitlynn Berry (1), Alexis Shelton (1), Hayley Dennis (1), Klaudia Smith (1, 2b), and Madison Simmons (1).
In Game 2, the Giants bats erupted for a 14 run, 15 hit attack enroute to a 14-2 victory, the Giants 5th (5-1) of the fall. Chloe Kirkland went the distance allowing just 2 hits and 2 runs earning the win. Hits from Kelsey English (2, 2b), Shelby Morgan (1), Sabrina Russell (2, 2b), Rachael McKinney (2), Kaitlynn Berry (2), Chloe Kirkland (1), Klaudia Smith (1), Alexis Shelton (1), Anna Clay (2), and Madison Simmons (1).
The Giants next showcase double header is October 25th at the Univ. Of Montevallo.
