The Birmingham Giants 01 softball team finished its weekend at Jacksonville state Univ. wining its first game and tying the second, pushing its season record to 3-2-1 for the fall season, and logging an unbeaten streak of 4 straight.
In game 1 of the double header, Blakely Burr (7-3) picked up her 7th win of the season, going 3 innings, allowing just 3 hits while striking out 3, before being relieved by Skylar Street who pitched the final 2 innings for the save and the Giants 4-2 victory over Gardendale Crush. Offensively the Giants received hits from Allison Roberson (2, 1 3b), Cassi Williams (1), Sarah Grace Moore (2, 12b), Elissa Glaze (1), Maci Harris (1), Skylar Street (1), and Kelsey English (1).
In game 2 of the Double header, Skylar Street (2-2) started in the circle, working all 5 innings, allowing just 2 earned runs, while striking out 1 in the 3-3 tie. At the plate the Giants received hits from Allison Roberson (2), Sarah Grace Moore (1), Mollie Peoples (1), Maci Harris (1, 2b), Taylor Dawkins (1), Skylar Street (1, 3B), and Kelsey English (1).
The 01 Birmingham Giants fall record now stands at 3-2-1 and includes their 4 game unbeaten streak at their last 2 double headers (JSU, and Southern Union). The Giants will p,lay next at the Univ of Montevallo on October 24th.
