The Birmingham Giants 02, finished its fall season campaign with a 3rd place finish in the state tournament in millbrook on saturday. 
In their first game of the day, the Giants faced off with the 01 Dothan Heat. After 2 first inning runs, the Giants toed the line, but could not pull any closer in the 2-0 loss. Blakely Burr (9-5) pitched all 5 innings, allowing just 2 hits while striking out 3. The Giants managed just 2 hits of their own Hadley Andrews (1), and Ka’Mya Hampton (1).
In game 2 of pool play, the Giants offense came to life, scoring 7 runs on 10 hits in a 7-0 win over the Dream Team. Hits from Hadley Andrews (1), Lauren Cabiness (1), Elissa Glaze (1), Kinley Hall (2), Blakely Burr (1), Kim Livingston (1), Alli Parker (2, 1 2b), and Kylie Cordell (1). Ka’Mya Hampton (2-1) fired a 1 hit shut out f0r the win, her 14th all time as a Giant. The win seeded the Giants 5th of 11 teams going into bracket play, matching them up with the Storm.
In their first game of bracket play, the Birmingham Giants offense picked back up where it had left off, pounding out 11 hits and 12 runs in the 12-3 victory. Hadley Andrews had 3 hits, Ka’Mya Hampton a Double and a Triple and Elissa Glaze (2, 1 2b), Mollie Freeman (1), Kim Livingston (1), Alli Parker (1), and Kylie Cordell (1) all had hits in the win. Blakely Burr pitched all 3 innings, allowing just the 3 runs, while striking out 2 for the win. The win moved the Giants into the Semi Final game, again against the Dothan Heat.
The Giants fell short in the 5-0 game, managing just 1 hit (Kinley Hall), and ended their day with another top 3 finish in a state tournament, the 5th time they have accomplished this, ending their 2015 season with a 38-21-3 record, and 96 wins all time (96-52-5)
