In their second tournament, the 04 Birmingham Giants finished first behind a 3-1 record. In their first game of pool play, the Giants matched up with the Hit Squad. Ryleigh Merritt started the game and Raegan Thrasher finished up but several giant miscues on defense cost the Giants 6 unearned runs. At the plate Nattie Miles (1), Trinity Holloway (1), and Mikayla Cardwell (1) all had hits for the Giants.
In their second pool play game the Giants were matched with the a Fury. Jenna York pitched 3 solid innings, in tossing a no hitter, the first in 04 Giants history, and 31st in club history. At the plate the Giants pushed across 4 runs in the win, and hits from Jayla Hanson (1), Nattie Miles (1), Trinity Holloway (2b), and Mikayla Cardwell all had hits for the Giants.
Moving into bracket play, the Giants were again matched up with the Fury. Alyssa Faircloth took the circle, pitching all 3 innings, allowing just 1 hit, while striking out 4 in the 5-3 win. Jenna York (2b), Alyssa Faircloth (1), Raegan Thrasher (1), and Ryleigh Merritt all had hits for the Giants in the 5-3 win. The win moved the Giants in to the finals to meet Sycamore.
In the championship, the Giants scored 4 times in the first inning, and 4 more in the second to cruise to a 8-1 win. Alyssa Faircloth started the game in the circle, allowing no hits and 1 earned run while striking out 4, and Reagan Thrasher closed out the final inning in the win.
The win gave the Giants a first place finish for their first time, and pushed their record to 6-2 on the season.
