Raley Vines (3-0) threw the Birmingham Giants 2nd no hitter of the day Saturday and 31st all time as the Birmingham Giants won both of their showcase games at Southern Union college. Starting the game in the circle, Vines pitched all 4 innings, striking out 4 enroute to the no hiiter, which was capped off by a spectacular play in left by Kennedy Jackson to preserve the no hitter. At the plate Hannah Vines (1), Sarah Grace Moore (2b), Skylar Street (1) and Catherine Couch all had hits for the Giants.
In game 2 of the Double header, Skylar Street (2-0) worked all 4 innings, allowing just 4 hits while striking out 3 for the win. At the plate hits came from Abby Waters (1), Sarah Grace Moore (2), Maci Harris (2), Kennedy Jackson (3b), and Catherine Couch (1) to pace the Giants 8 run , 7 hit attack.
The win left the Giants at 5-1 on the fall, with their only loss coming to the 18u Birmingham Giants. The Giants play next in the Tri State Exposure in Florence on October 1st.
