The Birmingham Giants 04 team continued their successful first season taking 2nd at the Halloween bash in Fultondale, posting a a 4-1 record, Raising their season total to 18-7 overall. In game 1 of pool play the Giants faced off with Twisted sister with Jenna York (4-1) in the circle, who allowed 1 run on no hits while striking out 2, and Ryleigh Merrit closed out the game, allowing no hits in her inning of work as the Giants tossed the organizations 33rd no hitter in the 5-3 win. At the plate the Giants offense was paced by Alyssa Faircloth (1), Raegan Thrasher (1), and Ryleigh Merrit (1).
In game 2 of pool play, the Giants were matched up with the Misfits. The Giants offense struck early for 2 runs, and cruised to a 5-2 win. Taylor Mancone (1), Nattie Miles (3b), Jayla Hansen (1) all had hits for the Giants and Raegan Thrasher struck out 2 over 2 innings and Alyssa Faircloth closed out the game for the 5-2 win.
The win seated the Giants as the 2 seed, and slated them to play Thunderstruck. After trailing 12-4 in the last inning, the Birmingham Giants staged a comeback for the ages, scoring 9 run in their final at bat, including the final 4 with 2 outs to pull off the 13-12 win and advance to the semifinals. Jenna York (2, 1 2b) singled home the game winning run, and hits came from Taylor Mancone (2), Nattie Miles (2b), Jayla Hansen (2), and Raegan Thrasher (1). In the Circle Raegan Thrasher (5-3) picked up the win relief.
The comeback win moved the Giants into the Semi Finals to play High Intensity. Raegan Thrasher started the game in the circle, pitching all 3 innings of the 6-4 win. At the plate Taylor Mancone (3b), Jayla Hansen (1), Jenna York (1), and Raegan thrasher (1) all had hits in the win. The victory moved the Giants 04 into the finals to face off with Venom 04. Hits from Alyssa Faircloth (1), and Mikayla Cardwell (1) were all the Giants could managed as they finished 2nd.
The Birmingham Giants 04 team will play their last tournament on Saturday.
