Coming out of their offseason, the Birmingham Giants 12u Team picked up where it left off, posting a 3-1 mark to start their season. In game 1 of their pool play schedule the Giants faced off with Team Easton. Hunter Howell made the start for the Giants, pitching 3 innings, before being relieved by Peyton Jackson and Sylas Amick who closed out the game for the save. At the plateGiants offense posted 7 runs on hits from Jarod Latta (2), Sylas Amick (1, HR), Peyton Jackson (2b), Hunter howell (3), Egan Lowery (1), Jayce Reasen (1), and Hunter Scott (2). Jb Landrum made 2 plays at 3rd base late in the game to help preserve the Giants win.
In Game 2 of pool play the Giants were matched with Team Ridiculous. Jarod Latta (1-0), who now unbeaten in his last 10 starts (7-0) took the mound, pitching 5 strong innings, allowing 3 hits while striking out 8 for the win. At the plate, the Giants received hits from Bryson Barns (1), Jarod Latta (1), Sylas Amick (HR), Hunter Howell (HR), and Eayan Thomas (2b) enroute to the 5-1 win. The win seated the Giants 1st overall moving into bracket play.
In their first game of bracket play, the Giants squared off with the Alabama Legends. Sylas Amick (1-0) earned his first victory of the year , pitching all 3 innings of the 12-0 win , allowing just 1 hits and striking out 7, losing the no hit bid with 2 outs in the last inning. At the plate, the Giants offense was powered by hits from Jarod Latta (1), Sylas Amick (2, 1 3b), Peyton Jackson (1), Jayce Reasen (2), and Eayan Thomas (1). The win moved the Giants back to familiar territory, the Championship game as the top seed.
In the championship game, the Giants again were matched with team Ridiculous. After trailing at 1 point in the game 7-2 the Giants battled back to a 9-8 loss, leaving the tying run on 3rd to end the game. At the plate, the Giants offense posted hits from Bryson Barnes (HR), Jarod Latta (1), Sylas Amick (3, 2b), Peyton Jackson (1), Hunter Howell (1), Egan Lowery (1), and Eayan Thomas (1).
