13u Birmingham Giants post 5-1 mark, finish 1st and 3rd

The Birmingham Giants 13u Baseball teams closed their final weekend of the season in Millbrook, finishing 1st and 3rd, and raising their final record to 26-11.  In Game 1 of the day, the Giants team A faced off with the tribe. Jarod Latta started the game on the mound, pitching 3.1 Innings, allowing just 2 hits while striking out 5 before Sylas Amick closed out the final inning for the 3-0 win. At the plate, the Giants offense was paced by K.J Beck (1), Bryant Akeridge (2, 1 2b), Cameron Harris (1), and Eayan Thomas (1).

Brock Poset Birmingham Giants

In Game 2 of the Day Giants Team 1 was matched up against the Young Gunz. After coming in in relief in the first, Ian Dabbs allowed just 1 more run over 4 inning, while striking out 4 in the 5-0 loss. At the plate, the Giants managed just 2 hits, Brock Posey (1), and Aiden Richey (1) in the loss.

Game 3 of the afternoon saw the Giants Team A match up with the Young Gunz. Bryant Akeridge started the game on the mound, allowing just 2 runs on 3 hits over 5 innings, and Tank Amick struck out the final 5 batters he faced for the save. At the plate hits came from Bryant

Egan Lowery Birmingham Giants

Akeridge (1), Syalas Amick (2, 1 2b), Jarod Latta (2b), Eagan Lowery (2)(Including the go ahead run scoring single), Kevin Hurley (1), Gavin Clanton (1), and Eayan Thomas (2) led the Giants to a 3-2 win.

Dakota Cobb Birmingham Giants

In game 4 of the Day, Team 1 took on the Tribe. Dakota Cobb started the game on the mound, pitching all 5 innings, allowing 4 hits and 3 runs, while striking out 1 enroute to the 5-3 win. Offensively the Giants were led by Dee Spears (2), Alex Drake (1), Dakota Cobb (1), Brock Posey (1), Jackson Harding (2), and Jacob Isom (1).

 

With a 2-0 record, The Giants team A seated 1st and was scheduled to play the Young Gunz for the Championship. After scoring 1 run in the first, 2 in the second and 2 more in the 3rd, the Giants offense gave Giants Starter Jarod Latta all the runs he would need in the 5-1 win, with the lone run coming in the final inning. Sylas Amick struck out the final 2 batters to close out his 3rd save of the day. Jarod Latta the Giants started pitched 3.1 innings, allowing just 4 hits, while striking out 7. At the plate the Giants need just 4 hits to go along with 9 walks and 7 stolen bases handed out by the young gunz, hits came from Bryant Akeridge (1), Eagan Lowery (1),  Kevin Hurley (1), and Eayan Thomas (1), leading the Giants team a to the championship.

Dee Spears Birmingham Giants

With a 1-1 Record, Giants team 1 took on the Tribe again for 3rd place. Dee Spears took the hill for the Giants, allowing 3 hits and 2 runs over 5 innings, of the 14-2 win. At the plate, the giants offense pounded out 13 hits, including Dee Spears (2), Ian Dabbs ( 2, 1 3b), Alex Drake (2), Brock Posey (1), Jackson Harding (1), Jacob Isom (2), Aiden Richey (1), and Caleb Osborn (2), leading to the win.

The giants season concluded with both teams compiling a combined 26-11 win, raising their alltime mark to 129-49 alltime.
