The Birmingham Giants 10u softball had a day to remember at the plate on saturday in brookwood, which propelled them into the Semi Finals, where they lost on a walkoff hit. In game 1 of pool play, the Giants faced off with Ttown Thunder, a team they have defeated twice this season, and although the Giants defense allowed 6 unearned runs, the Giants offense 6 Hits in the 2 inning, time shortened game, Piper Rowe (1), Aubrey Liveoak (1), Kiley Snowden (2B), Ava Brand (1), Ryleigh Hall (3B), and Hailey Nichols all had hits for the Giants.
In Game 2 of pool play the Giants totaled 7 more hits in the 3 inning game and despite hits from Piper Rowe (1), Sophie Gromko (1), Abrey Liveoak (2, 1 2B), Kaydence Hays (2), and Chloe Condray (1), powering their 4 runs in the 6-4 loss.
Going into their first round of pool play, the Giants had totaled 13 hits in 5 innings, and that total would rise against the Alabama Fire. Piper Rowe (2, 1 3B), Alyna Morgan (2, 3B , HR), Sophie Gromko (2), Aubrey Liveoak (3B), Rylieigh Hall (2B), and Hailey Nichols (1) all had hits in the Giants 9 hit 11 run attack in the 11-1 win. Alyna Morgan threw a complete game in the circle allowing just 2 hits while striking out 3.
The win moved the Giants into the semifinals for the 5th tournament in a row again against the TTown Thunder. Alyna Morgan (3B), Aubrey Liveoak (2, 1 3B), Kaydence Hays (2), Ava Brand (1), and Hailey Nichols (1) totaled 7 more hits in 4 innings giving them 29 hits in the tournament, in just 13 innings, including 10 extra base hits and drawing 9 walks. In the bottom of the 4th inning, with 2 outs TTown Thunder got a walkoff triple to drive in the tying and go ahead runs to end the Giants day 4-3.
