Raising their season record to 34-3, while winning their 26th straight game, the 07 Birmingham Giants won another tournament on saturday in Boaz. In their first game of pool play early saturday morning, the Giants were matched up with the Iron Pigs, and after the first inning, the Giants had plenty of bacon winning by a score of 14-2. At the plate, Cohen Thompson (2), Keston Beck (1), Brody Flack (2), Rian Eatmon (2), Marcus Bryant (2), Lucas Busby (1), Brady Jenkins (1), Zander Lehman (1), John Bryant Fowler (1), Conner Dockery (1), and Brayden Stephens (1) all had hit to power the explosive Giants offense.
In their second game of pool play the Giants 7u squared off with the Rampage. and it was the Birmingham Giants 7u that went on a rampage, scoring 21 runs in 3 innings on their way to a 21-2 win. The win was the Birmingham Giants 900th all time since 2009. At the plate, Cohen Thompson (3), Keston Beck (3), Brody Flack (3), Rian Eatmon (2), Marcus Bryant (2), Lucas Busby (2), Brady Jenkins (1), Zander Lehman (2), John Bryant Fowler (2), Conner Dockery (1), Brayden Stephens (1), ans Jason Green (2) all had hits to lead the Giant offense which only recorded 5 outs in 3 innings.
The win seated the Giants first overall going into bracket play, to again face Rampage. The Giants 15 runs was enough to power them into the final as the cruised to a 15-5 win. Cohen Thompson notched his 8th consecutive hit in the first 3 games as did Brody Flack(7-7), and Keston Beck going 3-3, Rian Eatmon (2), Marcus Bryant (1), Lucas Busby (1), Brady Jenkins (1), Zander Lehman (1), Conner Dockery (2), Brayden Stephens (2), and Jason Green (1), also pounded out hits for the Giants in the win.
The win sent the Giants into the Championship to face the Patriots. In a game that was called after 3 innings, the Giants had amassed 12 runs, in the 12-0 shutout of the Patriots. At the plate Keston Beck (1), Brody Flack (2) (who finshed his day 9-9), Rian Eatmon (1), Marcus Bryant (2), Lucas Busby (2), Zander Lehman (1), and Jason Green (1) all had hits as the Giants rolled to the championship.
