Birmingham Giants 04 finish 2nd

In their 3rd tournament of the summer, the Birmingham Giants 04 finished second, raising their season record to 6-6. In game 1, Emily Jones tossed 3 scoreless innings in the circle, striking out 2 while allowing just 2 hits. At the plate Jayden Kurdziel (1), Emily Jones (1), , Piper Lowery (1), Ella Wilborn (1), Reagan Thrasher (1) and Morgan Rice (1) all had hits for the Giants with Ella Wilborn driving in the games only run as the Giants pulled out the 1-0 win. 

 

In game 2 of pool play, the Birmingham Giants 04 were matched up with Riptide 04. Alyssa Faircloth started the game in the circle, striking out the side in her only inning of work, and Jayden Kurdziel struck out 3 more over the final 2 innings of the Giants 4-0 win. Offensively the Giants were led by Reese Lowery (1), Jatden Kurdziel (2, 1 2B),  and Piper Lowery (2B) in the victory. The win moved the Giants into bracket play with a 2-0 record, having not allowed a run.

After trailing for the first 2 innings against Sweet Swing, the Giants offense erupted for 4 runs in the final frame to complete the comeback and pull out the 10-9 win. At the plate the comeback was powered by Reese Lowery (2), Emily Jones (1), Jenna York (1), Alyssa Faircloth (1), Piper Lowery (1), Ella Wilborn (1), Morgan Rice (2B), Raegan Thrasher (1), and Kalea Hewitt (2B). Nattie Miles scored the winning run on a pass ball.The win  moved the Giants into the Semifinals to face Kryptonite Orange.

In the Semifinal game Alyssa Faircloth allowed just 1 earned run over 3 innings, while striking out 8, and Reese Lowery (1), and Alyssa Faircloth both had hits and the Giants managed to push 5 runs across in the 5-4 win. The win moved the Giants into the finals to face Prospex 04.

Emily Jones started the game in the circle, striking out 2 over 2.1 innings, and Jayden Kurdziel (1), Jenna York (1), Alyssa Faircloth (2B), Nattie Miles (2B), and Kalea Hewitt (1) had hits for the Giants but it was not enough as the Giants dropped a 6-4 game, finishing 2nd overall.
