7u Giants win BPA Sate Title

The Birmingham Giants 7u Baseball team claimed its second state title this spring season when the swept through the BPA state tournament in Gadsden. The 4 consecutive wins raised their season record to 38-3 as they head to the world series this weekend. In their first game of pool play, the Giants were matched up with the Strikers. In a game that lasted 3 innings, the Giants scored 7 runs in all 3 innings on their way to a 21-0 win. Cohen Thompson (3), Keston Beck (3), Brody Flack (2), Rian Eatmon (2), Marcus Bryant (2), Lucas Busby (2), Brady Jenkins (1), Zander Lehman (2), Conner Dockery (2), Brayden Stephens (2),John Bryant Fowler (2), and Jason Green (2) all had hits for the Giants in the win. 

In game 2 of pool play, the Giants were matched up with Turn 2, one again the Giants defense was nearly perfect as the rolled to a 13-2 win. Offensively the Giants were led by Cohen Thompson (2), Keston Beck (2), Brody Flack (2), Rian Eatmon (2), Marcus Bryant (2), Lucas Busby (2), Brady Jenkins (2), Zander Lehman (2), John Bryant Fowler (1), Conner Dockery (1), and Brayden Stephens (2). The win seated the Giants as the 1 seed going into bracket play.

In game 1 of bracket play, the Giants 7u were scheduled to play the North Alabama Blaze. As has been the theme for the Giants this season, again their Defense rose to the challenge, limiting the blaze to just 3 runs, while they scored 13. Cohen Thompson (2), Keston Beck (1), Rian Eatmon (1), Marcus Bryant (1), Lucas Busby (2), Brady Jenkins (1), Zander Lehman (2), John Bryant Fowler (2), Conner Dockery (2), Brayden Stephens (2), and Jason Green (2) all had hits as the Giants cruised to a 13-3 win and a birth in the state finals game against PTB.

In the championship game, the Giants offense wasted no time with 4 runs in the first, 4 more in the 2nd and 2 more in the 3rd on their way to a 15-5 win and their 2nd state title this season (USA Playmakers). Cohen Thompson (2), Keston Beck (3), Brody Flack (1), Rian Eatmon (3), Marcus Bryant (2), Lucas Busby (2), Brady Jenkins (2), Zander Lehman (1), John Bryant Fowler (1), Conner Dockery (2), and Jason Green (2) all had hits as the Giants won easily.

The Giants 7u will play next in the World Series this weekend.
