Finishing their season on saturday in Millbrook the Birmingham Giants 05 team notched their first tournament win this season posting a 3-0-1 mark, raising their season record to 25-19-3. In their first pool play game, the Giants took on the Chaos. Brailey Ponds started the game in the circle allowing just 2 hits over 3 innings while striking out 3, and the Giants offense got its lone hit from Katelyn George (1) as the game ended in a 0-0 tie.
In game 2 however the Giants offense came alive scoring 20 runs on 8 hits in the 20-1 win over the Columbus Heat. Lauren Reach got the win, tossing a 2 inning no hitter, and at the plate, Ella Morgan Sears (2), Avery Boyle (1), Mya Clark (1), Ramey Copeland (1), Jordan Mahaffey (1), and Brailey Ponds (2) all had hits for the Giants in the win.
The win moved the Giants into bracket play to face off with the East Alabama Extreme. Avery Boyle struck out 8 over 4 innings, and the Giants got hits from Ella Morgan Sears (1), Avery Boyle (1), Gina Munoz (1), and Katelyn George (1) all had hits for the Giants in the 6-3 win. The win was the Birmingham Giants 1000th win all time.
The win moved the Giants into the semifinal game against the Outkast. Avery Boyle started the game for the Giants, playing in championship game against the Pride, pitching all 4 innings and again striking out 8, as the Giants pulled out a 7-6 win. At the Plate Ella Morgan Sears (1), Caroline Spuriell (1), Mya Clark (1), Kylie Kennedy (1), Jordan Mahaffey (1), and Gina Munoz (1) all had hits for the Giants, as the concluded their spring 2018 season with the win.
