Coming off their 31 win spring campaign the 10u Birmingham Giants softball picked up right where they left off, rolling off 5 wins in a row on their way to their first championship of the fall. 9 game winner in her spring season Kaydence Hays (1-0) started the game in the circle, picking up the win, before being relieved by Kylie Snowden who closed out the game with 6 strikeouts over 2 innings, in the 7-3 victory over the propects. At the plate Piper Rowe (1), Kaydence Hays (1), Aubrey Liveoak (1), and Kylie Snowden (1) all had hits for the Giants in the win.
In their second game of pool play, Piper Rowe (1-0) picked up her first win in the circle as a Giant, as she allowed no runs in her inning of work on 1 hit, before being relieved by Kaydence hays and Kiley Snowden who closed out the game striking out the side in the Giants 4-1 win over the Eagles. At the plate Piper Rowe (1), Aubrey Liveoak (1),and Kylie Snowden (2, 1 2B) had hits for the Giants. The win seated the Giants first overall going into bracket play.
In their first game of bracket play, the Giants were matched up with Venom. Aubrey Liveoak (1-0) collected her first win of the fall, tossing a no hitter over 3 innings, join the group of Giants pitchers that have thrown a no hitter in their first start as a Giant. Offensively, the Giants erupted for 13 runs in the victory. Ryleigh Hall (1), Piper Rowe (1), Kaydence Hall (2), Aubrey Liveoak (2B), Kylie Snowden (2), Hailey Nichols (1), Ava Brand (1), Chloe Condray (1) and Jamie “Jet” Burrell (1) all had hits for the Giants in the win. The win moved the Giants into the semifinals to face the westside connection.
Kaydence Hays (2-0) picked up her second win of the fall, allowing 2 hits over 2 innings while striking out 4 and Kylie Snowden closed out the game striking out 6 over 2 innings in the 12-3 win. At the plate, Ryleigh Hall (1), Kaydence Hays (2, 1 2B), Aubrey Liveoak (2B, 3B), Kylie Snowden (1), Chloe Condray (1), and Jamie “Jet” Burrell (1) all had hits as the Giants cruised to a 12-3 win, and a spot in the championship game to again face the Prospects.
In the championship game, the Giants again faced off with the prospects. Kylie Snowden started the game in the circle, and turned in the Giants second no hitter of the day, allowing no hits over 5 innings, striking out 13 in the 8-0 win. Ryliegh Hall (1), Piper Rowe (2B), Aubrey Liveoak (2, 1 3B), Kylie Snowden (2, 1 2B), Hailey Nichols (1), Chloe Condray (1), and Jamie “Jet” Burrell (3B) pounded prospect pitching in the win.
The 10u Giants are off this weekend and will resume play on the 22nd.
