The 10u Birmingham Giants posted a 5-1 record this weekend in Hoover, and brought home their 2nd tournament victory of the fall. Starting their weekend off in the 6 game friendly open, the Giants squared off with the Her-Icanes. The game represented the Giants only loss of the tournament as the Her-icanes eaked out a 2-1 on a late run. Kylie Snowden started the game, tossing 4 innings from the circle, allowing 1 hit while striking out 6. Offensively, Kaydence Hays (1), Hailey Nichols (1), and Jamie “Jet” Burrell (2B) had hits for the Giants in their only defeat of the weekend.
In game 2, the Giants and Venom took the field in their match up. Kaydence Hays started the game in the circle, allowing juts a single over 3 innings, while striking out 9 in the 8-1 win. At the plate Piper Rowe (1), Kaydence Hays (1), Aubrey Liveoak (2), Kylie Snowden (1), Hailey Nichols (2), and Chloe Condray (2) all had hits for the Giants.
In game 3 of the 6 game friendly, the Giants met up with the Vipers. Kylie Snowden started the game in the circle, tossing all 3 innings, allowing 4 hits while striking out 7 in the 6-2 victory. Ryleigh Hall (1), Kylie Snowden (1), and Aubrey Liveoak (1) all had hits as the Giants went on to a 6-2 win.
To start game 4, Kylie Snowden took the circle, and again as she did in her last outing against the prospects, she tossed 4 more shutout innings, this time allowing just a single hit and striking out 10 as the Giants pulled out the 4-0 win. Piper Rowe (1), Kylie Snowden (1), and Chloe Condray (2B) all had hits in the win.
Next up for the Birmingham Giants 10u was the Birmingham Thunderbolts. In continuing her great day in the circle, Kylie Snowden allowed just 1 hit over 4 innings, striking out 10 more as the Giants rolled to a 9-0 win. At the plate Piper Rowe (1), Kaydence Hays (1), Kylie Snowden (2B), Aubrey Liveoak (1), Hailey Nichols (1), and Ava Brand (1), all had hits for the Giants in the win.
The win moved the Giants into the Semi Final game, to again face the Birmingham Thunderbolts. Kylie Snowden started the game in the circle, allowing just 1 hit over 4 innings, while striking out 10. At the plate Ryleigh Hall (2B), Piper Rowe (1), and Aubrey Liveoak (1) all had hits in the 3-0 win. The win moved the Giants into the finals to gain face the Vipers.
In the final, Kylie Snowden again allowed just 1 hit over 5 innings, while striking out 7 and Piper Rowe (1), and Aubrey Liveoak(1), had hits as the Giants pulled out the 1-0 win, as the Giants defense closed out the tournament with 17 straight scoreless innings.
The win ran the Giants record to 11-1 on the fall season.
