Ainsley Boyd and Goose Reed combined to toss a no hitters to seal the State championship for the Birmingham Giants 06 rallied after an opening game loss to roll off 5 straight victories, bringing home the State Title. In thier opening game, the Giants were matched with the Bulls, the same team they would eventually beat in the Championship game, Madison Feltman, Anna Grace Bush and Destiney Brashears all tallied hits and Monica Rose and Anna Grace Bush both struck out 3 over 2 innings, but the Giants fell 7-2.
In game 2 of pool play, the Giants faced off with the Alabama Fire. The Giants offense erupted for 8 runs on 6 hits including hits from Madison Miller (1), Monica Rose (2B), Anna Grace Bush (2, 1 2B), Goose Reed (HR), Mallorie Thompson (2B). In the circle Mallorie Thompson tossed 2 innings, allowing 2 hits while striking out 2 and Destiney Brashears closed out the final inning of the 8-1 win.
In their first game of Bracket play, the 06 Birmingham Giants were scheduled to play Nemisis 12u. The Giants offensively exploded for 10 more runs on 10 hits(Madison Miller 1, Monica Rose 1, Destiney Brashears 2, Ainsley Boyd 1, Goose Reed 1, Carly King 3, 1 2B, Mallorie Thompson 1) and in the circle Destiney Brashears 1IP, Ainsley Boyd 2IP, and Goose Reed 2 IP, combined to scatter 5 hits over 5 innings, while striking out 6 in the 10-1 win.
The win moved the Giants on to face the Tuscaloosa Titans. In a close game, the Giants got a walk off double from Ainsley Boyd to seal the victory. Giants pitching allowed just 3 hits over 5 innings, and 3 earned runs as Monica Rose struck out 2 over 2 innings, while Anna Grace Bush struck out 2 over the final 2 innings of the 8-6 win. At the plate Madison Miller (2), Madison Feltman (2), Kamile Carter (1), Monica Rose (1), Anna Grace Bush (1), Ainsley Boyd (2 2B), Carly King (2, 1 2B) and Mallorie Thompson (1) all had hits for the Giants in the 8-6 win.
The victory moved the Giants into the State semi final game, to face the Sunshine sluggers. In a game that was never close, the Giants scored 11 runs over the first 2 innings, and cruised to an 11-2 win. Mallorie Thompson and Destiney Brashears allowed just 2 hits over 3 innings for the win. Offensively Monica Rose (2), Destiney Brashears (2), Ainsley Boyd (1), Goose Reed (1), and Mallorie Thompson (1) all had hits in the victory. The win moved the Giants into the State finals to again meet the Bulls Strode.
Ainsley Boyd and Goose Reed Combined to throw the Giants 59th no hitter all time, (2nd time in the State finals), striking out 3 over 5 innings, and the Giants offense supplied 10 runs on 11 hits, including hits from Madison Miller (2, 1 2B), Madison Feltman (1), Kamile Carter (2, 1 HR), Anna Grace Bush (1), Ainsley Boyd (2), Goose Reed (1), and Carly King (2) which led led the Giants to the 10-3 win and the Organizations 8th state title.
