8u Birmingham Giants win final tournament of the fall

The 8u Birmingham Giants closed out their final tournament of the fall with another tournament win, and pushing their fall record to 13-3 and their first full year record to 58-7. In their first game of pool play, the Giants squared off with Shoal Creek. With the Giants defense allowing just 3 hits over 3 innings, and the offense supplying 15 runs in the 15-0 shut out win. At the plate Ross Christie (1), Brody Flack (2), Mike Carolton (2), John Bryant Fowler (2), Weston Morton (2), Maverick Bevel (2), JP Taylor (1), Tyson Latham (2), Aaron Robinson (2), and Kameron Laws (1) all had hits in the win. 

 

 

In game 2 of pool play, the Giants were matched up with the Cove Crushers. Once again the stingy Giant defense allowed just 4 hits over 4 innings, and the Giants offense put 14 more runs on the board as the Giants cruised to a 14-0 win. Ross Christie (2), Brody Flack (2), Mike Carolton (1), John Bryant Fowler (3), Weston Morton (3), Maverick Bevel (3), JP Taylor (1), Aaron Robinson (1), Tyson Latham (2), and Kameron Laws (1) had hits in the 14-0 win. The win seated the Giants first overall going into bracket play.

The win matched the Giants up Shoals Creek the  in the first round of bracket play. Yet again the Giants defense allowed just 5 hits over 4 innings and the Giants offense pushed 15 runs across, guiding the Giants to a 15-0 win. Ross Christie (2), Brody Flack (3), Mike Carolton (2), John Bryant Fowler (2), Weston Morton (2), Maverick Bevel (2), JP Taylor (1), Aaron Robinson (1), Tyson Latham (2), and Kameron Laws (2) all had hits in the win. The win propelled the Giants into the finals to meet the Hartselle Speed.

In the final game, the Hartselle speed was able to do what no other team had so far on the day, score runs against the Giants defense, although they were only able to push 6 runs across, while the Giants offense scored 14 more in the 14-6 win. Ross Christie (3), Brody Flack (3), Mike Carolton (3), John Bryant Fowler (2),  Weston Morton (2), Maverick Bevel (3), JP Taylor (2), Aaron Robinson (2), Tyson Latham (2), and Kameron Laws (2) all had hits in the victory. The win gave the Giants the championship for the final time this fall.
