The Birmingham Giants 12u Baseball team allowed just 2 hits over 2 games, while posting a 2-0 record on their way to their first championship of the season. In their first game of pool play, the Giants pitching tossed a combined no hitter, Alex Guthrie (2 Innings), Daniel Stringfellow (2 Innings 1-0) and Alex Reynolds (2 Innings) combined for the No Hitter to start the season. At the plate the Giants offense faired much better than their opponents the Alabama Pistols as Kolton Hudgins (1), Alex Guthrie (1), Cayden Cain (2, 1 HR), Max Hollingsworth (1), and Hoss Bensko (1) all had hits in the 3-0 win.
In their second game of pool play, the Giants were paired with the vipers. Max Hollingsworth (1-0) started the game on the mound before being relieved by Cayden Cain as the Giants duo allowed just 2 hits in the 13-1 win. At the plate Kolton Hudgins (1), Alex Guthrie (2B), Cayden Cain (1), Daniel Stringfellow (HR), Max Hollingsworth (1), Alex Reynolds (1), Hoss Bensko (1), Karrington Daniels (HR), and Trevor cox (1) all had hits for the Giants in the win.
With the rain the tournament was shortend, and because the were firmly in first place at the end of pool play, the Giants were awarded the championship, their first of the season.
