Playing in their first ever tournament as Giants, the 8u Birmingham Giants softball team posted a perfect 3-0 mark on their way to their first tournament championship as Giants. In game 1 of pool play the Giants faced off with Venom Elite. In a game that was never really close the Giants posted 20 runs over 3 innings on their way to a 20-2 win. At the plate, Natalia Mathews (1), Skylan Dyson (3), Mackenzie Sansing (3),
Sophia Carroll (3), Haylee Gothard (1), Abigail Erreca (1), and Addison Bailey (1) all had hits in the win.
In game 2 of pool play, the Giants face off with the Crush. Offensively
Natalia Mathews (2), Skylan Dyson (3), Kira Vines (1), Mackenzie Sansing (1), Sophia Carroll (1), Khloe Kennedy (1) Haylee Gothard (1), Abigail Erreca (1), Addison Praytor (1) and Addison Bailey (1) all had hits for the Giants as the defense posted a 13-0 shut out, seating them 1st over all heading into bracket play.
The Giants playing in the championship game again faced off with the Gardendale Crush once again, and as before the Giants offense rolled putting up 13 runs on 15 hits by Skylan Dyson (2), Kira Vines (1), Mackenzie Sansing (2), Sophia Carroll (2), Khloe Kennedy (1) Haylee Gothard (2), Addison Praytor (1) and Addison Bailey (1) . The win gave the Giants their first championship of the season.
