In running their season record to 26-1, the 8u Birmingham Giants baseball team cruised to yet another title saturday in Hayden. In their first game of pool play, the Giants matched up with the Hartsell Speed. Jumping out to a 7-0 lead, the Giants eventually won 12-1. At the plate Zander Leamon (2), Ross Christy (1), Brody Flack (3), John Bryant Fowler (3), Lucas Busby (2), Aaron Robinson (2), Justin Hill (1), Blake Freeman (2) and Taylen Johnson (3) all had hits in the Giants win.
In game 2 of pool play, the Giants were matched up with the Trussville red squad. After starting slow, the Giants erupted for 7 runs late in the 11-4 win.
Zander Leamon (3), Ross Christy (2), Brody Flack (3), John Bryant Fowler (2), Lucas Busby (2), Aaron Robinson (2), Justin Hill (2), Tyson Latham (1), Kameron Laws (1 ) , Blake Freeman (1) and Taylen Johnson (2) all had hits as the Giants cruised to the top seed over all heading into bracket play.
In bracket play, the Giants were again matched up with Trussville Red, and again the Giants walked away with another victory, 16-13. Zander Leamon (3), Ross Christy (3), Brody Flack (3), John Bryant Fowler (3), Lucas Busby (2), Aaron Robinson (2), Justin Hill (2), Tyson Latham (2), Kameron Laws (1 ) , Blake Freeman (1) and Taylen Johnson (2) all had hits to power the Giants to the win. The win sent the Giants into the finals to face the shockers.
In the championship game, the Giants seized control early and cruised to a 20-6 win. Zander Leamon (1), Ross Christy (3), Brody Flack (3), John Bryant Fowler (3), Lucas Busby (3), Aaron Robinson (3), Justin Hill (3), Tyson Latham (2), Kameron Laws (1 ) , Blake Freeman (3) and Taylen Johnson (2) all had hits for the Giants offense as the brought home another championship.
