7u Giants win 22nd Game of the Season and Finish 2nd

Rolling their season record 22-6 the Birmingham Giants posted a 2-2 record and a 2nd place finish on saturday in Haleyville. In their first game of the day, the Giants after pulling even at 6-6 in the 5th inning, surrendered 5 late runs in the 11-6 loss. At the plate Will Shoults (2), Brayden Helms (1), Luke Francis (2), Landon Coleman (1), Braeden Wainwright (2), Wiley Swindle (2), and Wesley Mullins (2) all had hits for the Giants.

In their second game of pool play, the Giants faced off with the Dark Knights. Jumping out to a 12-1 lead, the Giants finished with a 14-1 win. Tanner Egan (3), Camden Buford (3), Will Shoults (2), Brayden Helms (3), Luke Francis (1), Landon Coleman (3), Braeden Wainwright (3), Wesley Mullins (1), and Braylen Parker (2) all had hits in the win.

Moving into bracket play, the Giants were again matched up with WC Thunder. The Birmingham Giants jumped out to 15-11 lead, and held off a furious last inning comeback by the thunder to hold on to the 15-14 win and a trip to the finals again. Tanner Egan (1), Camden Buford (3), Will Shoults (3), Brayden Helms (2), Luke Francis (2), Landon Coleman (1), Braeden Wainwright (1), Wiley Swindle (1) Wesley Mullins (2), Braylen Parker (1), Easton Scott (10, and Aiden Alexander (1) all had hits in the win.The victory moved the Giants into the finals to face the North Alabama Braves.

In the championship game, the Giants held an 8-4 lead heading into the last innings, but were unable to hold the braves off and came up on the short end of a 9-8 defeat. Tanner Egan (1), Camden Buford (2), Will Shoults (2), Brayden Helms (1), Luke Francis (1), Landon Coleman (2), and Braeden Wainwright (2) all had hits for the Giants.
