In the 2019 travel baseball season the Birmingham Giants have been able to accomplish several milestones and breaking several longer standing club records, and in keeping with that theme, the Birmingham Giants 7u Baseball team won their second State tournament this season saturday, winning the USSSA State, posting a 3-1 record along the way. In the 2019 fall season, the Giants have won 5 Baseball state Tournaments, (7u USSSA State, 7u Global State, 8u Playmakers State, 12u Playmakers State and 11u BPA State (Fall Season) ).
Starting out their pool play games, the Giants suffered their only loss of the weekend, a 10-7 loss to Stix. At the plate Brayden Helms (1), Camden Buford (2), Will Shoults (2), Brody Flack (2), Tanner Egan (1), and Wiley Swindle all had hits for the Giants in the loss.
In game 2 of pool play the Giants were matched up with the Diamond Kings. In a game that was never close, The Giants pushed 12 runs across in the first 2 innings, on their way to a 18-3 win. Brayden Helms (2), Camden Buford (1), Will Shoults (3), Brody Flack (1), Luke Francis (2), Tanner Egan (1), Wiley Swindle (1), Braeden Wainwright (2), Landon Coleman (1), Braylen Parker (1), Aiden Alexander (1), and Easton Scott (1) all had hits as the Giants cruised 18-3. The win seated the Giants 3rd overall.
Moving into bracket play, the Giants were set to play Stix with a chance to avenge their earlier loss. The Birmingham Giants jumped out to an 11-5 lead and held on for an 11-10 win. Offensively Brayden Helms (2), Camden Buford (3), Will Shoults (2), Brody Flack (2), Luke Francis (2), Tanner Egan (1), Wiley Swindle (2), Braeden Wainwright (3), Landon Coleman (1), Braylen Parker (1), and Easton Scott (2) all had hits in the Semi Final win, a win that moved them into the State Finals yet again.
In the Finals, the Giants jumped out to a 9-3 lead over WC Thunder before eventually winning 12-3. Brayden Helms (1), Camden Buford (2), Will Shoults (2), Brody Flack (3), Luke Francis (2), Tanner Egan (2), Braeden Wainwright (1), Landon Coleman (1), Braylen Parker (1), and Aiden Alexander (1) all had hits as the 7u Birmingham Giants finished the sweep of the USSSA State and The USSSA Global State tournaments.
