8u Birmingham Giants bring home 1st title of the fall

Playing in their first tournament of the fall the Birmingham Giants 8u Baseball team rolled to a 4-0 mark, and gabbed their first championship of the fall in Montevallo. In game 1 of pool play the Giants were matched up with the Pirates. In a close back and fourth game the Giants were able to take the 9-8 win behind their offense led by Mason Jones (3), Cam Buford (2), Will Shoults (2), Braeden Wainwright (1), Tanner Egan (2), Landon Coleman (3), Luke Francis (2), Brons Anderson (1), Ethan Passmore (2), and Tahj Salaam(1) who all had hits to lead the Giants to the win.

In game 2 of pool play the Giants were matched up with Chelsea Blue. In a game that was not close, the Giants scored 8 runs in the first 2 innings, on their way to a 21-4 win. At the Plate Mason Jones (4), Brayden Helms (4), Cam Buford (3), Will Shoults (3), Braeden Wainwright (2), Tanner Egan (1), Landon Coleman (1), Luke Francis (2), Brons Anderson (3), Ethan Passmore (3), and Tahj Salaam(3) all had hits for the Giants in the win. The win seated the Giants first overall going into bracket play.

In their first game of bracket play the Giants were matched up with the Northport Mafia. After scoring 14 runs in the first 2 innings, the Giants cruised to a 15-3 win. Offensively the Giants were led by Mason Jones (3), Brayden Helms (2), Cam Buford (2), Will Shoults (2), Braeden Wainwright (2), Tanner Egan (2), Landon Coleman (1), Luke Francis (2), Brons Anderson (1), Ethan Passmore (1), and Tahj Salaam(2) in the win. The Win sent the Giants into the Championship game to again face the Pirates.

In what proved to be another close game with the Pirates, the Birmingham Giants 8u grabbed the final lead on a base hit from Cam Burford that drove in the winning run of a 14-13 victory. At the plate Mason Jones (4), Brayden Helms (4), Cam Buford (4), Will Shoults (2), Braeden Wainwright (2), Tanner Egan (2), Landon Coleman (1), Brons Anderson (1), Ethan Passmore (2), and Tahj Salaam(2) all had hits to lead the Giants to the championship.
