Playing in their 3rd 9u tournament of the fall, the Birmingham Giants 9u baseball team, captured their 2nd top 2 finish of the fall saturday in Haleyville. After dropping the first game by a lopsided score to Hartsell speed, the Giants rebounded with 12-6 win. Justin Hill started the game on the mound, and Landon Closed out the final innings of the win. Offensively the Giants were led by Justin Hill (2), Tylan Floyd (1), Elijah Lackey (1), Landon Kyle (1), and Kam Laws (1) whom all had hits to power the offense.
The win closed the Giants out in pool play at 1-1 moving into bracket play. In their first game of bracket play, the Giants were matched up with all out. A 15 run first inning out the game out of reach as the Giants finished with a 23-1 win. Kam Laws allowed just 1 hit over 2 innings and Justin Hill (3), Ross Christy (3), Tylan Floyd (2), Elijah Lackey (3), Landon Kyle (3),and Tylan Johnson (1) all had hits in the win. The win moved the Giants into the championship game to face Diamond Kings.
Tylan Floyd started the championship game on the mound for the Giants and Max finished the game for the Giants pitching the last 2 innings. Justin Hill (2), Ross Christy (1), Tylan Floyd (1), Elijah Lackey (2), and Landon Kyle (1) all had hits as the Giants came up on the short end of a 5-4 score finishing 2nd.
