Playing in just their second tournament, the Birmingham Giants 10u Baseball team won 3 out ot of 4 games to grab 2nd place. In game 1 of pool play, the Giants faced off with ASA. The Giants offensively exploded for 8 runs over the first 2 innings, leading to an 8-6 win, as ASA scored a few runs late to make the score closer. Izayah Teer (1), Nigel Laws (1), Elijah Lackey (1), Tylan Floyd (2, 1 2B), Makai Gallego (1),and Kade Johnson (1) all had hits and Jackson Gant struck out 4 over 3 innings for the win.
In game 2 of pool play the Giants were matched with Momentum Baseball. Izayah Teer (3, 2 2B) Nigel Laws (2, 1 2B), Elijah Lackey (3), Tylan Floyd (3, 1 2B), Cahrlie Hill (2, 1 2B, 1 3B), Jackson Gant (2), Makai Gallego (2B), and Kade Johnson (1) all had hits and Izayah Teer struck out the side in the first inning and Nigel Laws closed out the final 2 innings of the 19-3 win.
Entering into bracket play, the Giants again faced off with ASA. Izayah Teer stuck out 5 over 3 innings, before Taylen Floyd struck out 2 over the final 2 innings of the 12-8 win. The Giants offense pounded out 10 hits over the 5 innings, and Izayah Teer (3B), Elijah Lackey (2, 1 2B), Tylan Floyd (2, 1 2B), Charlie Hill (2, 2 2B), Jackson Gant (3B), Makai Gallego (1), and Nolan Wiggins (1) all had hits for the Giants in the 12-8 win, which moved the Giants into the championship game.
In the championship game the Giants were matched up with the River Dawgs. The Birmingham Giants led the after first 3 innings, before the riverdawgs scored 6 runs over the final 2 frames and the Giants fell 6-2. At the plate Izayah Teer (1), Nigel Laws (1), Elijah Lacket (2), and Tylan Floyd (2, 1 HR) all had hits as the Giants fell 6-2.
