The Birmingham Giants 8u Softball team advanced to the championship game in their return to play, dropping a hard fought game 11-10, after going 2-1 through their first 3 games. In their first game of pool play, the Giants were matched up with the chargers. Hits from Hilton Ashe (1), Autum Pounds(1), Marilyn Hayes(1), Kinley Seibert (1), Hadlee Mason (1), Jheida Reed (1), Rylie Mann (1), and Brooklyn Davlin(1) were not enough as the Giants dropped their opener 11-6.
In game 2 of pool plat the Giants were paired up with the Hericanes. The Giants offense erupted for 8 runs in the 8-1 victory. Paisley Mullins (2), Addison Bailey (3), Autumn Pounds(1), Marilyn Hayes (2), Kinley Seibert (1), Emmy Parker (2), Jheida Reed (1), Hilton Ashe (1), Rylie Mann (1), and Brooklyn Davlin (1) all had hits to lead the way for the Giants, posting thier 1-1 record in pool play.
In their first game of bracket play, the Giants were set to face the mustangs. In a close game high scoring game, the Giants outlasted the mustangs 16-14.
Paisley Mullins (2), Addison Bailey (3), Autumn Pounds(1), Marilyn Hayes (3), Kinley Seibert (3), Grace Turner (2), Emmy Parker (3), Jheida Reed (3), Hilton Ashe (2), Rylie Mann (2), and Brooklyn Davlin (2) all had hits for the Giants in the victory that sent them into the championship game to again face the Chargers.
In a tight game the chargers were able to survive the Giants late push to hold on to an 11-10 victory. Paisley Mullins (1), Addison Bailey (2), Autumn Pounds(1), Marilyn Hayes (3), Grace Turner (1), Kinley Seibert (1), Emmy Parker (2), Jheida Reed (2), Hilton Ashe (1), Rylie Mann (3), and Brooklyn Davlin (2) all had hits to power the Giants offense which scored 10 runs.
