9u Birmingham Giants capture 2nd at the World Series

In their 3rd world series appearance in 3 season, the Birmingham Giants followed up the 1st and second place finishes previously with another 2nd place finish in the the 2020 summer grandslam world series. In their opening game of pool play, the Giants were matched up with Renegades Baseball. The Birmingham Giants pitching duo of Brody Flack 2 innings, 2ks, and Brody Gowan 2 Innings 1 strike out combined to toss the Birmingham Giants 72nd no hitter all time as the Giants won 8-0 over Five Star Baseball. At the plate Junstin Hill (2), Ross Christy (1), Landon Kyle (1, 1 2B), Max Bell (1), Brody Gowan (2B), Jamarcus Jackson (2, 1 3B), Legend McMiller (2, 1 3B) pounded 5 Start pitching in the 8-0 win.

In their second game of pool play the Birmingham Giants 9u matched up with Renegades Baseball. Lucas Busy allowed just 1 run over 2 innings and Ross Christy struck out the side in 1 inning of work in the 12-1 win. At the plate Justin Hill (1), Ross Christy (2 , 1 3B), Brody Flack (1), Landon Kyle (2), Max Bell (1), and Kam Laws (2B) all had hits in the 12-1 win. The win seated the Giants first overall going into bracket play.

In their first bracket play game the Giants were set to play 5 star Baseball. Max Bell started the game on the mound before being relieved by Landon Kyle who struck out 3 in 2 innings of work. At the plate Justin Hill (1), Brody Flack (1), Max Bell (2, 1 3B), Taylen Johnson (2B), and Kam Laws (1) all had hits, but it was not enough as the Giants suffered the 8-5 loss.

The Loss sent the Giants to play Renegaded baseball for the second time, and for the second time, the Giants pitching allowed 1 or less runs to the renegades as Brody Gowan allowed no hits over 3 innings in tossing the Birmingham Giants 73rd no hitter all time. At the plate Justin Hill (2), Ross Christy (2), Brody Flack (2), Landon Kyle (1), Max Bell (2), Brody Gowan (2), Taylen Johnson (1), Jamarcus Jackson (2), Legend McMiller (2), and Kam Laws (2) all had hits for the Giants in the 18-0 win.

The win moved the Giants into the semi finals to face Dragons Baseball. After leading most of the game, the Giants defense faltered late, and the Giants fell 7-3, finishing 2nd. At the plate hits from Justin Hill (1), Ross Christy (1), Brody Gowan (2B), and Kam Laws all had hits in the loss.
