The Birmingham Giants 10u softball team traveled to cullman on saturday to compete in the USSSA summer sizzler. In their first game of pool play the Giants faced off with D3 Fury. Skyaln Dyson started the game in the circle before being relieved by Khloe Herron and the Giants got hits from Skylan Dyson (1) and Kendall Burch (2), but the Giants fell 7-6.
In game 2 of pool play the Giants matched up with Helena Havoc and in another close game the Giants came up a run short, dropping the game 7-6. Khloe Herron started the game in the circle, and Sophia Carroll closed out the final inning, and hits from Skylan Dyson and Sophia Carroll were not enough as the Giants lost 7-6 again.
The Pool play results moved the Giants into the silver bracket to face Tuscaloosa Extreme. Kendall Burch started the game, striking out the side and Khloe Herron finished the game striking out the side, and hits came Skylan Dyson (1), Sophia Carroll (1), And Reagan Warren (1) as the Giants advanced to the silver championship.
In the championship game Kendall Burch struck out 7 over 2 innings and the Giants received hits from Abigail Erreca (1), Kira Vines (1), Sophia Carroll (1), Khloe Herron (1) and Ac Ledbetter (1) but it was not enough as the Giants came up on the short end of an 8-5 score to the Hartselle Prodigys.
