Lanie Dreyer went the distance pitching 5 innings, allowing just 3 hits while walking only 2. Offensively the Giants were led by Lanie Dreyer (1, 2b), Sarah Grace (1), and Turner Cole (1).<\/p>\n<p>In Game 2 against the Mayham, the Giants fortunes changed, as Haley Lang (3-1) went the distance on the mound allowing 1 hit and striking<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/birminghamgiants.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/08\/haley-head.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright wp-image-3017 size-thumbnail\" src=\"https:\/\/birminghamgiants.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/08\/haley-head-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"Haley Lang       P\/3B\/1B\/OF     2019\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/><\/a>out 4 enroute to her 3rd victory of the season. \u00a0Offensively the Giants launched a 9 hit, 11 run attack, to cruise to an easy 11-0 victory. Hits from Tori Layfield (2, 2b), Maci Harris (1, 2b), Haley Lang (2, 2b), Cassi Williams (1) and Turner Cole (1) sparked the offense for the win.<\/p>\n<p>The Giants opened bracket play against the Golden Eagles. Skylar Street, opened the game on the mound and went 2 innings, striking out 4 and allowing just 3 earned runs and Lanie Dreyer came into finish the final 2 innings of the game, but a defensive laps inning cost the Giants a 2 run lead and the game.
