The 8u Birmingham Giants grabbed the USSSA state title saturday in cullman, posting a 3-1 mark, bringing home the Giants 12th state title overall. Opening their day on saturday, the Giants faced off with the Elite Sluggers and in a game that was not close, the Giants posted a 15-0 win. Offensively the Giants were paced by Mason Jones (2), Brayden Helms (3), Cam Buford (3), Will Shoults (3), Tanner Egan (2), Luke Francis (3), Brons Anderson (1), and Tahj Salaam(2) who all had hits for the Giants in the win. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In game 2 the Giants suffered the only loss of the season, a loss they would avenge later in the day. Offensively the Giants were led by Mason Jones (1), Brayden Helms (2), Cam Buford (1), Will Shoults (2), Braeden Wainwright (3), Tanner Egan (1),Luke Francis (1), Brons Anderson (1), Ethan Passmore (2), and Tahj Salaam(1) but came up just short. With a 1-1 record the Giants seated 3rd going into bracket play, which would enable them to Right a wrong and avenge the earlier loss. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In bracket play, the Giants who led most of the way, battled to the 12-11 victory. Led by Mason Jones (4), Brayden Helms (4), Cam Buford (3), Will Shoults (1), Braeden Wainwright (2), Tanner Egan (3), Luke Francis (2), Brons Anderson (2), Ethan Passmore (3), and Tahj Salaam(1) the Giants offense powered them in to the State Finals to face WC Thunder. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

After taking the lead in the 4th inning, 7-6, the Giants never looked back as they rolled to a 13-9 win. At the plate the Giants offense was led by Mason Jones (3), Brayden Helms (4), Cam Buford (3), Will Shoults (1), Braeden Wainwright (2), Tanner Egan (3), Luke Francis (2), Brons Anderson (2), Ethan Passmore (3), and Tahj Salaam(1) as the grabbed the Giants 12th State Title in club history.
